13 Fishing is at it again with a variation of one of their OG rods, the Omen Black Kayak series. This set of spinning rods features a shorter handle length for easier maneuverability while fishing from a kayak. Kayak anglers know all too well how life jackets and long fishing rod handles don’t always mix. So, 13 Fishing worked with MLF Pro Dave Lefebre and Gene Jensen aka “Flukemaster” to develop this series of rods specifically for kayak fishing. They combined the greatness of the Omen Black with their feedback and boom, the Omen Black Kayak rod was born. Using Japanese 36 Ton Toray blanks with Poly Vector Graphite technology, 13 Fishing was able to increase sensitivity and lighten the overall weight. For spinning rods, this feature is paramount. Most anglers are finesse fishing with spinning rods, so being able to feel every bite is of the utmost importance. Combine that with full-cork 4A Portuguese handles, diamond coated ALPS 316 Stainless Steel Guides with Zirconia Inserts, Evolve custom ported reel seat, and what you end up with is a premium kayak fishing spinning rod.
