From tall timber to wide open country, the Viper HD 3000 Laser Range Finder by Vortex reigns supreme. With a 3000 yard max range, the Viper HD 3000 delivers the speed and precision necessary for making long range shots, and comes equipped with a wide array of Vortex exclusive features. It utilizes Vortexs HD optical System, which utilizes select glass elements for excellent resolution, edge-to-edge sharpness, and high light-transmission while simultaneously reducing chromatic aberrations. The Viper HD 3000 offers three ranging modes: Line of Sight, Horizontal Component Distance, and Scan Mode. Line of sight displays the actual distance to the target while horizontal component distance displays the angle compensated distance. Scan mode on the other hand provides a continuous distance readings while panning across a landscape. Other features of the Viper HD 3000 include four target modes. Normal mode provides the targets range with the strongest range result, suitable for most situations. First mode provides the closest distance while ranging, an ideal feature for smaller targets. Last mode provides the farthest distance when ranging, perfect for acquiring the range on targets behind obstructions like bushes, trees, and rocks. ELR mode is intended for targets at extreme ranges and is most effective while mounted on a tripod.
